Welcome To Groomsport Parish Church
Groomsport Parish Church is a small but growing Church of Ireland Community, at the heart of village life. Our Church is a sanctuary in this village and has been standing here for over 176 years. We seek to offer a sense of the Holiness of God through our worship. Our vibrant Parish Organisations offer something for everyone, and we also have strong links with other community groups. Over the years we have welcomed many new parishioners and countless visitors: it is our prayer we can grow closer to God and gain a growing sense of his wonder and grace through our worship and ministry.
As the village continues to grow, we hope to offer something to the new members of our community. In a village with many elderly residents, we like to provide them with a chance to meet up and connect with the church, even if they can’t always make it along to services. As our young people take a more active role in the church, we would also like to see them grow in faith. Most importantly, we pray that we grow as a community of Christians looking to our community and responding to the challenge of Jesus when he said, “Feed my sheep”.

A PRAYER FOR ADVENT
O Lord Jesus Christ,
who at your first coming sent your messenger
to prepare your way before you:
Grant that the ministers and stewards of your mysteries
may likewise so prepare and make ready your way
by turning the hearts of the disobedient to the wisdom of the just,
that at your second coming to judge the world
we may be found an acceptable people in your sight;
for you are alive and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit,
one God, world without end.
Lord, forgive us for worshipping what is not You.
Direct our hearts to understand the fullness of Your character, Your heart, and Your truth.
Open us up to fully live out our adoration of You, as a church family.
Help us to honour You with our lives, and within the life and ministry of the church.
Teach us how to worship You in spirit and in truth.
You are holy, You are righteous, and You are absolutely worthy. Amen.
